Launch Pad: Where Young Authors and Illustrators Take Off! is a new online magazine dedicated to publishing fiction, nonfiction, poetry, book reviews, and artwork by children ages 6-12. The first six thematic issues appeared online starting in January/February 2008. Launch Pad recently changed its publishing model, and instead of publishing six thematic issues a year, we will be considering works about any topic to be published on an ongoing basis.
Launch Pad matches talented young artists with young writers to create eclectic content that is fresh, imaginative, and highly original. Launch Pad offers perhaps the only publishing venue for young people to publish their works in a high quality format without any submission or publication fees.
Launch Pad will be published in an online only format in 2008/2009. The magazine is currently an open access publication, available free of charge. Publishers or associations interested in forming a partnership to launch a print version or participate in the online version should send inquiries to the editor.
We have accepted a number of written works that need illustrations. If you would like to illustrate a work for Launch Pad (or know a talented young artist), send a message or artwork sample to the editor!
We are currently accepting children's writing and works of art, as well as book reviews, on any topic.
