Launch Pad: Where Young Authors and Illustrators Take Off! is a new literary and arts magazine dedicated to publishing fiction, nonfiction, poetry, book reviews, and artwork by children ages 6-12. The magazine will appear six times a year (published online every two months), with the first issue debuting in January /February 2008.
Launch Pad will be published in an online only format in 2008. The magazine will be an open access publication during the first year, available free of charge. We are looking for a partner to launch a print version in 2009. Launch Pad maintains a growing list of libraries interested in subscribing, and a partnership represents an exciting opportunity to support the arts through a highly profitable venue. Interested associations or publishers should send inquiries to the editor.
We have accepted a number of written works that need illustrations. If you would like to illustrate a work for Launch Pad (or know a talented young artist), send a message or artwork sample to the editor!
We are currently accepting children's writing and works of art, as well as book reviews, on any topic, but we are especially interested in submissions related to any of the following themes: Fairy Tales & Fantasy, the Ocean, Sports & Summer Fun, Mysteries, and Heroes.
